You cannot merge quotas together from different dairy farms. If someone is exiting the dairy industry they can sell their farm as an ongoing operation or sell their quota on the quota exchange where it will be divided between all bidders. I know of only one farm in Canada that milks over 2000 cows and data I found online from USA said in 2014 there were over 700 farms that milked over 2000 cows so this idea of huge corporate owned dairy farms in Canada is pretty far fetched. We have the perfect system to maintain family farms that employ Canadian labor. As soon as I get a chance I'll take a few pics from around the farm and introduce myself better and show you guys how backwards we are here ;)
