NE Nebraska | Can't blame the packers when they're paying $15 over board price. The problem is one cannot buy the board and demand the cattle from Chicago. I've tried it! When the board is artificially low and not matched with cash markets there is a problem. Ya sure it's nice if your a hedger and have a great basis but, it sure sucks if your the calve producer that gets shorted because the board is to artificially low out front. Of course this can't be proven because it's a Futures market. Only a belief in what the future holds. But they should match up, in the current month! | |
