Eastern Washington | Knew a trucker (mechanic), that could remove broken off resessed head bolts. I never tried it, but he used an arc welder, some tubing that just fit inside the hole. Used a new rod, so it didn't want to strike an arc without bumping the end, put it down the hole, strike the arc, it would weld the tube, to the broken head bolt, turn the tube and the broken bolt would come out of the hole. I thought it was a neat solution, but never saw it done. | |
