Jim Tarbutton was the local manager in Highland when I started farming. Dad and I had never really considered dealing with Mid-Ohio, because the former manager there was kind of a "notorious character". Jim showed up one day, introduced himself as the new manager at Highland, and said to me "I gonna sell you all your chemicals and fertilizer." I said "really?" Well, we got to know him, and after that year did all our business with him until he left the Highland plant. Became good friends. | |
