Subject: RE: shaver post driver

Driftless SW Wisconsin

stockcows - 3/26/2017 14:17 has anyone converted a three point post driver (shaver hd12) to a skid loader. How did you plumb the hydraulic return? Putting on a bobcat t300

I suggest you call the Shaver people and ask them. The HD12 is a LARGE driver and needs zero pressure and a lot of flow back to tank when it comes down. If you restrict it going back through the valve/flat face fitting you may not get the full impact when putting a post in. You might also cause some other problems.

Not something to guess about, imho.  Hydraulic back pressure where it's not expected might cause a hazardous situation for the operator.

Shaver has a skid steer mount with a return tank on the driver for just this problem. I strongly suggest you contact Shaver. Is there a tank return somewhere on the front of your Bobcat?

I have an HD12 and it will pound RR ties into hard ground. It needs to be plumbed correctly.

Good luck.
