Taking the netwrap off helps the wet bottom flake off and you don't have that added wetness. I think you better check with the manufacturer about larger bump-outs on the inside walls of the tub to keep your small bales rotating so you don't have to overload it. Slow turning speed helps avoid the stopping and starting jerking action your talking about.
