New Brunswick, Canada
Well provided you don't go crazy and just outright melt the motor down first pull, the number of hours you get out of a diesel motor starts dropping off the higher hp it is operated at. So if you turn it up to use the power 1% of the time, you probably won't notice the effect on life. If you use it all the time it will definitely shorten the life.

Do you care if the tractor makes it to 4000, 8000 or 12,000 hours before a rebuild? Might be worth it to save buying a larger tractor especially these days.

Other folks can answer if that specific model is already near the ragged edge as they say.

I have a 8410 tractor that I want to power chip but someone claims it hurts the motor. Is that true? Are there any other down sides?
Thanks for your help.
