The only thing that is a bit more expensive is if you pay someone else to do your valve lash adjustments. Oil and filter about a wash vs 2 stroke oil.
Pics are twin Optimax 115's on a boat I helped sell for a family member and twin 4 stroke 50's on a boat I bought from a family member.

If its a 4 stroke I would pass too expensive to maintain. Optimax is good and still being used.
