One option on the siphon-- place a 300 gallon rubbermaid trough below the dam and out on the hill aways so the water level in the trough is the same as the pond. Adapt 1.25 black poly pipe to the bung opening in the trough and put it over the pond dam as a siphon. It will work, but it will be slow and prone to freezing.
