I would disagree that "the NH3 would be exposed to the atmosphere & gas off". A lot of myths about N loss. True it can still be lost through leaching or de-nitrification, but tillage afterwards probably is not going to influence that much. Once it's attached to soil particles, probably no different than putting 32% on top, in my book.
