I can't pencil wheat at all. You may have an easier time getting higher protein in your area than us. 11 or 12 percent protein doesn't work very well here. You may also have less risk with wheat if it were to turn dry later in July and August.
Long story longer, I don't know how most can pencil spring wheat but obviously people can.
To grow wheat or not?
