southern MN | FaceTime (not iChat, sorry) (the Mac version of Skype that only works with other Mac devices) and the skype app both are camera and voice deals?
Why would you be typing while video talking with people?
The built in camera works very well. I wouldn't imagine needing a stand alone camera.
I use FaceTime a lot more than Skype, but depends what the other folk have for devices. Skype seems a tiny bit more cumbersome, but works equally as well with the built in camera.
You will learn quickly not to put your fingers over the camera or the microphone areas, and good to go?
