Brent you are correct that this situation can be favorable to the buyers but terribly unfair to seller. The sad part is the vet fees and all salebarn operations are funded by the sellers commissions. Also both barn and vet have a fiduciary and possibly legal responsibility primarily to seller to fairly and accurate represent the animals but also be fair to buyers.

Denice suspect you are also correct that time is a perceived issue as seems this guy just basically slides arm in and out then stamps number. Spends little time while inside. Breds rarely start selling before 2-2:30 so he should have time to be fairly thorough. I always bring mine in day before so will hopefully be checked before he get too tired.

Am only having this problem with 1 vet out of several.
