The key is to minimize your variable costs and maximize the value you are getting from your fixed. All the big farms are producing 28+ pigs per year some 30. Getting the right facilities and management practices to produce the most amount of pork/sow is the best ROI.
According to the exchange rates I'm finding online $150 CAD is approximately $111 USD
$111/hd would still be a pretty cheap break even but not as crazy cheap as $90 would be.
The past few groups we have been needing $125-140 per head to cover all costs.
A couple of the groups that were at the upper end of that range had health problems that translated to death loss and performance problems.
