Eastern NE
Here is a ballpark idea on the cost difference between curtain sided and enclosed tunnel barn. On the curtain sided I'm figuring 2' concrete and on the enclosed I'm figuring making the concrete 4' and adding a few windows on each side for natural lite.

Standard curtains both sides --- $0 (would be about $390 to get enough rolls of bubble insulation you take in and out every year to save propane)
Insulated curtains both sides --- add $1,755 (more then standard)
Enclosed sidewalls --- add $6,250 (more then standard)
Based on 225' long barn.

Not sure how much propane you save one vs the other - hard to compare unless you have side by side with the same sized pigs same time of year.

If you go curtain sided you should look into if integrator would let you go power - natural - tunnel. Power the min. then the capability to switch between natural and power ventilated depending on what the weather is doing. Controls these days are capable of doing this if you have a weather station. I'd think the electrical savings would more then makeup the propane savings but again I have no data to prove this.
