Subject: Handling cattle after fire

NW Oklahoma
Anyone with experience on handling cattle after wild fire? Moved a small herd to a corral in bare spot in pasture. Fire got within 200 yards. Have no idea how long they were in smoke. Been told there is a vaccine for the calves to ward off problems. Will talk to vet tomorrow but was looking for a heads up here. 80 acres they were in yesterday morning is totally destroyed. Thankful we got them moved. Others in area not so lucky. Several head didn't survive.
Fire is out tonight. Had crews from all over the state helping, including planes dumping on ares in sandhills that can't be reached by firetruck. Fires in area have taken over 800,000 acres.
Volunteer firemen are a special breed. So thankful for them!
