Subject: Fescue in New Pasture Seeding

Southwest Iowa
We are seeding down a crop field to establish a new cattle pasture this spring. The seed mix we are considering is 4lb red clover, 2 lb white clover, 12 lbs endophite free fescue and small amounts of orchard, brome and Timothy.

Does anyone have any experience with endophite free fescue? I am not afraid of managing fescue and don't want to sacrifice much yield loss between the two types of fescue.

We are broadcast seeding this with an oat cover crop and following it with a harrow. . Located in sw Iowa. This farm has pretty clayish soils and was originally a cattle farm.
