I wouldn't give it much thought. Guess it depends on how many handwritten checks you do. Here we started at 1000 on handwritten 5 years ago and are now up to like 103x. Started on 2500 for computerized. Just put a good space between them based on how many checks you write and then if you do start overlapping it will likely be many years down the road so shouldn't cause you any confusion. I suppose you could always just put an m behind the handwritten ones to denote manual if you do overlap.
