DV, NV | Your harvest losses would negate any gains. Some guys used to dry chop around here, could see the dust plume for miles. A Roto Grind is a little too aggressive for dairy quality alfalfa but works for off grade hay. Our Kuhn vertical mixer does a nice job on pure forage loads, but I add quite a bit of water and sometimes still pulverize the alfalfa more than I would like even adding it last. | |
