This gave me an idea that may or not help you. I have an old Supreme feed wagon that blew the gear box years ago. I wasn't worth fixing and has been sitting for probably 10 years. The scales worked fine when we mothballed it. I'll bet I can fit them to a bin, with a 120V to 12V transformer. Hmmm...
