Subject: RE: Velum for nematodes?

Eastern Idaho
There is a new chitosan based nematicide called Nemasan that a neighbor tested last year against Velum on potatoes. They split a pivot in 1/2 with Velum on one side and the chitosan stuff on the other, said they both did their job against the todes. Velum was more money, and the quality was better under the chitosan. They were impressed enough they decided not to fumigate one of their upcoming potato fields last fall to try it again.........we do their fumigating :(
The company that makes it is out of Mississippi or Georgia, and has done a lot of testing on cotton and peanuts.
