Subject: RE: Schuler TMR, any good?

I bought a 4510 in 2001 and it's still being used everyday. Needless to say I have been very happy with it. I have had no major repairs, but the last time I replaced knives I had to update to the new style knives that are in their current models. I feed around 250 to 300 head of dairy heifers high forage rations. Mostly silage and 3-6# grain but I do add some dry hay sometimes or baleage. I generally add the long hay or bale age after I put 1000# of silage in first and that seems to work the best for me. Still, once in a while the hay can get trapped by the restrictor plate and not get mixed well, more of a problem the higher the amount of hay you put in. I can't think of a major shortfall.
