You're Probly looking at fields that are direct irrigated with gator pumps or similar or pumps pumping straight out of the river. There's ALOT of land supplied with rio grande river irrigation water that is distributed by mostly open canals and " resacas" and some pipeline. Field size and shape is not like those fields along the river
