Subject: RE: Natural gas for grain dryer

Some things to keep in mind with gas are convenience, never run out of propane, expansion, if you upgrade dryers you'll get your install cost back quicker, gas cost, seems as tho gas gets cheaper on average versus propane which can get very expensive if you dry late in the year.

I know quite a few corn growers who wouldn't think twice if they could get mb hydro to bring them gas for the price you were quoted.

We paid almost 40,000 plus conversion costs to get gas when we were drying about 40,000 bu a year and it was suppose to pay for itself in 10 to 12 years but since then gas has come down by about a third and we're drying closer to 100,000 bu now so we're very happy with the investment now. Oh and did I mention the convenience of never running out of propane :<).
