Northeast Missouri | I am going into my third year of using them on a portion of my crop. You can commit however many bushels you want, not necessarily in any increments. In my area it's another way for the local coop to source grain and can be helpful. Like anything or anyone, they hit home runs, singles, and occasionally strike out. They pool the enrolled bushels, trade them a maximum of three times, and by a certain date a final price is determined. All transactions are transparent. The enrolled bushels are considered a HTA contract with basis set later. Just another tool in the toolbox. I figure I couldn't make all the trades they make for seven cents.
