Anybody remember the old Studebakers that had the starter button on the floor next to the clutch pedal, I remember and old lady at church had one of those.
Yep, I believe that starter button was under the clutch pedal so it would crank when you floored the clutch.
Both the Studebaker with the starter under the clutch and the Buick with the starter button under the gas pedal, had a manifold vacuum switch on the engine so the starter could not kick in if the engine was running/ had manifold vacuum. |
