Croswell, Michigan | I agree 100%. We have bought farms for less than what a new pickup costs now. I am in the same position as you, '01 Chevy 237k miles. I have some young children and getting stranded with then changes the whole dynamics of the situation. To buy some time to figure out what exactly I wanted to do, I leased as plain of a half ton pickup as I could last year. GM discount, paid the full shot up front got me 2 years/30k miles for what would be mid $200's a monnh if I was making monthly payments. I figure my old truck cost me about $200 a month to own with depreciation, tires, brakes, repairs etc. (but it was a 2500HD). So I figure my cost on this lease was close to ownership cost of buying. I have a year left to decide where to go from here. | |
