You should consider trying a FastTrac closing system on the high speed planter. The FastTrac uses a pair of covering disk that run in the ground on both sides of the seed trench and a press wheel to roll it over and firm it up. The problem everyone is having at higher speeds is the "V" closing wheels pinch the trench shut from the top down (at least try to) they can't get the job done in time (the faster the less time) and the faster you go the more they bounce (less seed to soil contact & more row unit bounce) From our experience the "V" system closing system is not adequate for much over 5mph and the less tillage you do, the worse it is.


See a lot more closing wheels like furrowcruiser around to eliminate that problem of needing to hammer the trench closed.
