Subject: RE: Liquid urea as a foliar N source

When I side dressed with 32% with weighted drops occasionally a leaf would pick up the drop and where the drop crossed the leaf it burned a streak. I'd think foliar application would miss leaves a significant fraction of the field putting the very dilluted nitrogen on the ground. I'd prefer coulter injection, but the last time I planted corn, my home made coulter injector lasted only one pass across the field. My bar wasn't strong enough to lift the sprayer tank when the ground rose rapidly. So I went to weighted drops on my home made sprayer, fortunately it rained in a couple days.
