I was told 22 birdshot was hard on the rifle barrel, any truth to this?
Yes, birdshot is hard on the barrel rifleing. The rifleing also swirls the pellets so it scatters somewhat right out of the end of the barrel. There used to be a bird shot make with a platic plug cap in which the birdshot pellets were supposed to ride down the barrel in to save the rifeling. |
