ESW ND | Had a cow with very similar symptoms. Head swelled up as well, but did go down some later. She also got thin from what she use to weigh. Vet did all the checks he could think of. No swelled brisket, so didn't think it was hardware, no blood in stool, nor signs of worms. She would eat some hay and grain and drink water. Didn't know what to do but let time take it's course. Well, Heaven called, wife and I were curious, so I cut her open. Ended up she had a ulcer that was leaking into her. Don't know what had caused it, one of those things I guess. She was a 7yr old. Vet said he's seen quite a few from grazing corn stalks, but we don't do stalks. Dunno, but end result was still the same.
