I'd have to look back to see when it started, 2002? Maybe and was likely $1 each prov/fed, then they doubled the prov dollar.
Lower animal numbers also means its more of your overall profit % gone to this scam. They bragged it up at the time about how small of an overall percentage of the animals value it was (at the time when animals were worth the highest ever) And at the meeting I asked them what it cost to produce that calf and how much in the end was actual profit, but they didn't want to admit to those figures.
