Alton, Ia | We have had a small home network setup, worked well for years. Upgraded one PC, found out bad MB. Had to put old PC back in service. During the backing up and conversion, we had named two PC's pretty similarly, based on their location. Was confusing, so decided to rename all the PC's by their Model, IE "Optiplex 620-Office" (Dell), and so on. Worked okay for most of them, one, the old PC being brought back in, did not work okay. We continue to see an error message "xxxx PC " (it's network name) cannot be found. I have tried everything, leaving the network and rejoining, re-entering the PC's name, etc. Continue to get the message. We also are unable to print from this PC, not sure if related or not. The named PC that it's looking for does not exist, so I don't know why it keeps trying to find it.
Is there a registry somewhere I need to edit/delete? Any other advice? Thanks for the help. | |
