but I wouldn't drive very far to do that. When he was in Wichita a few yrs ago he had all the answers for what we were doing wrong here in the plains. Kept harping about how he had less rainfall than we do and we should be raising twice the crops/OM that he was. I asked him what his pan rate was (I already knew 40"). He didn't know and started berating me and he said that it wasn't relevant. I thought he acted a bit bullyish. By the way my pan evap. rate is over 90" and to say that difference doesn't matter is just ludicrous. Doesn't mean he can't have some good thoughts but it does mean check the BS meter regularly. Dirt
