When I molboard plow I run a simple harrow over it in spring before they spread granular. Then field cultivate after that. The coop appreciates it smoothed a bit.

I don't for the chisel plow, they are following the furrows and not as lumpy.

But anyhow, yes it helps, but I assume you will do another pass with something after a nh3?
