We went to lunch with friends at a buffet where a woman works who we've talked with a few times.  Shes a grandmother taking care of 2 grandchildren.  I don't know anything much more than that.  I do know that we always see her moving quickly and efficiently, she's considerate as well, checking on our needs periodically without being intrusive.

We've been in the habit of leaving her a tip of more than what you would consider acceptable for our lunch. 

Today we gave her a $20 tip and she looked like she was going to cry.  Later she came back to our table and told us the story.  The restaurant is going to cut her hours and things will be even tighter for her.  This morning her granddaughter told her to smile a lot today and Jesus would have somebody give her $20.

Her happiness made our day too, though tinged with sadness that she's going to have a more difficult time.  For whatever good it will do will you say a prayer for Theresa and her grandchildren.
