WC MN | For our farm and these price levels it's pretty close to last resort. If you run the numbers and figure in ALL expenses that the piece of land needs to pay it is a money loser. Corn might have best shot at breaking even but the $200 or so payment on PP soybeans would not cover land expense in some instances around here. There also seems to be a hangover from having ground in PP in my opinion. I'm sure there will be more in 17' than 16' but the economics of it have not been very good since 13' on our farm. | |
