The other thing to remember is predicted Argentina corn production this year would actually have tied for 4th in the US state rankings. IA, IL, and NE all grow more corn individually than all of
Argentina and it is scheduled to produce the same as MN did. Not sure what Arg yields are exactly or what their planted acreage, but total corn acreage is probably somewhere between 10-15 million acres if one assumes yields are in that 100-140 bu average.

The only reason they matter at all in worldwide corn production is they export 2/3 of the corn they grow. Taken with their low carry overs, any production deficit affects their export capacity very quickly.

Edit: If the US had the same % carryover to usage rate as Arg, we would have a carryover of 850 million.
