No oxygen needed by most climbers outside of the much taller mountains in the Himalayas . You DO have to acclimatize over a period of time as you ascend, stepwise, there's a saying "carry high, sleep low", as you ratchet yourself and your "stuff" up the mountain through various, progressively higher camps.
