east central iowa | One thing im considering is see if we get a sell off on the report then try to buy corn on board or buy july or sept calls maybe sell a put to offset the calls but only if we dip low enough. I would do this on the bushels i want to foward contract this spring on a rally if we get it. Then at that point the calls would hopefully already be in the money giving some upside protection if we would go higher. If it looks like a repeat of the last two years take whatever profit would be on the position and run if the weather looks favorable. This would have worked well the last couple years i suppose it probably wont this year. The over run would be my gambling bushels in the bin. Half right half wrong is probably better than all or nothing. Thoughts bad idea?anyway to tweek this better? | |
