Central Illinois | I thought some may enjoy a communion meditation from Christmas Eve service.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. After creation was completed, His very good creation sinned. That sin caused a separation between God and mankind a life and death separation.
God's plan for restoration was already in place. A Son was foretold to be born of a virgin, from David's lineage in the town of Bethlehem. Jesus was born through a miraculous birth to live a sinless life to be the sacrifice that saves all from sin.
As we celebrate his birth, we come together at this table to partake of the loaf and this cup to remind us of His sacrifice which gives each of us the opportunity to be reborn. In that rebirth we are sinless and innocent, restored to God the Father.
John 5:24
"Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my words and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
