Many folks think they are a "vicious dog breed" but that is nonsense as they are a herding dog which is gentle by nature.
They are a strong willed dog but probably the most people oriented breed of dog there is.....they would rather be with people than other dogs.
I'd had a Lassie-type Collie dog prior to the Rotties. I would have to get her sheared like a sheep at times....the Rotties can walk through a patch of burrs and you can just brush them off. Very little shedding.
