You do realize that the 'celebration' of christmas has changed greatly all through the years I hope.

My grand parents were married on christmas day 110 years ago.

The celebration of this holiday was only proclaimed a little before that in most parts.

Do you do much different now than what you did as a child?

Most would say THEY do not however everyone has some different traditions than others and what is right for some is not acceptable to others.

I am sure in 20 years there will be people lamenting how the holidays have changed and even 'degraded' from what they remember.

Enjoy the day and time with family and friends and celebrate it the way you wish and let others do as they wish.

So Happy Holidays to you and Merry Christmas too as well as Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy solstice and all those other celebrations or even sorrowful remembrances like the Zorastrian tradition carries out at this time.
The first recorded date of christmas being celebrated on Dec 25th was in 336 during the time of the Roman Emperor Constatine. Seems to be more than a little before 110 years ago.
