We discontinued gifts this year. Parents are elderly and trying to get rid of stuff.
Some of adult kids live far away and their style, interests, access to stores are different, plus they don't need anything and don't want to haul stuff through airports.
No grandkids involved. I'd rather support local charities.
It's actually fun walking through the malls when there's no pressure to shop--I enjoy people watching .
Have you ever noticed people's faces if you go shopping the last few days before Christmas? Very few are smiling. Think I'll do that today, no gifts to buy but get some window film (should have done that earlier) and do some people watching. Got to move some snow first. Should probably stay home another day but getting Cabin Fever from staying in all weekend. |
