Built a log home 12 years ago. The stuff I sealed looks worse than the stuff I left natural. I will never be putting a clear coat on again. My personal opinion
All my interior walls are t&g and it doesn't matter if it is the logs or t&g no sealing here.
If I use anything for exterior I use the absolute best sealant you can get.
