Subject: Tracks on pull-type sprayer question....

Chebanse, IL.....

There was a thread here a few days ago re. putting tracks on sprayers and/or liquid applicators that presently use dual wheel configuration to try & get away from pinch rows. The tracks seems like a good idea for that purpose. But, I'm wondering, has anyone that has done that already seen any or much "grabbing" of the corn leaves by the tracks or bogies & damaging the plant? This would probably be on taller corn like V6 thru V8.

I'm not suggesting this is a problem, I'm asking if it occurs, or if it is a miniscule problem compared to the benefits of the tracks.

Just wondering.

Here was some taller corn we did 2 yrs ago. Front axle was pushing corn in lots of places. Of course, we were totally surprised we were able to sidedress that field at all in 2015. Water was a BIG time problem here. How would towed tracks be in the mud?
