Just went through this with our microwave. A door switch was bad. I put a cup of cold water in it and left the door open with the micro running but the water in the cup stayed cold so it must not have been putting out any power. It did have power with the door closed. It has been on its last leg since last spring so we replaced it instead of fixing. After the new one came I took the old micro to the shop and took the cover off. I took out eight Phillips head screws and two tamper proof torx, lifted the cover off and the door switches were right there staring at me.
SO.....the water stayed cold, but did you start feeling any warmer? Can't imagine its healthy to run a microwave with the door open. I don't even like to stand to close when they are operating in normal conditions! |
