just a tish NE of central ND | That tightener has a gauge to tell you how tight to make it. I believe it a metal s sleeve outside of the spring. Tighten the draw bolt until the sleeve runs out of travel.
If your separator is slowing down, it is driven by the triple separator belt in front of the motor. If that slips, the rotor slows down too. There is also a gauge on that belt tightener on our older machines. its possible to have slippage on the belt due to worn pulleys, Spray paint the sear surfaces and use the machine for a few hours and the shiny metal exposed on the pulley will tell where the belt is running. if it is too deep and on top the pulley top , it can cause slippage.
