SW Iowa | I bought mine around 9000 on it. I've got close to 16,000 now. Do a search on here, some claim to have 30,000+ on theirs.
Look at the chains, belts (there's 3 layers on the chevrons, see how many are still there), pick-up play (grab the teeth and see if the move up/down or "clank"), pull the dip stick on the gear box, and check the CV joint in the PTO. I'm sure others will chime in with some other points.
I rebuilt the pick-up, new chains and sprockets, roller bearings, and put tires on it. I have it inspected every year but don't let dealer do much of the maintenance unless it's a time factor (got a day job). Bearings on some rollers can be a two man job but aren't that hard. You'll love it. They're a hay eating machine! | |
