Central Illinois | The on going problems having a 2-way (47x FM) radio in Case-IH & New Holland tractors is a little better. Last attempt included a group 31 battery mounted on the auger wagon tongue just to power the 2-way. The radio itself is mounted with nylon clamps and the non ground plane antenna is mounted to the fiberglass roof so no conductivity to the tractor. The AM radio gets static when transmitting but is tolerable. If you are listening to a FM station, when you transmit it will shut the AM/FM radio down , erase all station presets and disable the clock. You have to restart the tractor to enable the AM/FM radio again. Any ideas ? | |
